Soccer training for real match situations
You can practise a skill repeatedly and still struggle to use it during a match. An opponent closes you down, space disappears, and suddenly you need a different response. ELP Soccer helps players connect practice with those decisions.
Our soccer training in Connecticut focuses on technique, movement, awareness, and understanding your role. Work on receiving, passing, defending, or finishing with exercises that give each action a purpose.
Led by Coach Enzo Pereira, our training encourages young and adult players to ask questions, recognize challenges, and build useful habits. Whether you play in defense, midfield, or attack, your development starts with identifying what needs attention. Bring your goals and work toward greater confidence in the situations you face on the field.

Where Elite Soccer Are Built
Defender training: become harder to beat
Defending begins before you make a tackle. You need to notice runners, judge the space behind you, and decide whether to press or hold your position. Defender training helps you understand those choices and respond with greater control.
Our training helps you practise one-on-one defending, body shape, positioning, interceptions, and recovery runs. Practise approaching an attacker, tracking movement, defending crosses, and choosing the right moment to challenge an opposing player.
The focus extends beyond winning the ball. Learn how to stay involved after the first action and recognize what the next phase requires. By connecting your movement with the situation around you, you can become more dependable when your team faces pressure and needs a defensive response during a match.

Midfielder training:
connect your team’s play
Midfielders often receive the ball with pressure coming from several directions. Looking around before a pass arrives helps you recognize space, spot an opponent, and choose your next action. Midfielder training connects that awareness with the technique needed to act.
Develop first touch, passing accuracy, turning, and ball retention. Practise receiving under pressure, judging the weight of a pass, and finding teammates over different distances. Sessions also address creating useful space and playing between the lines.
Our midfielder training includes understanding your role in both attack and defense. Learn when to keep possession, when to move play forward, and where to go after passing. The aim is more confident match involvement and clearer decisions as the game changes around you.

Striker training: prepare for the finish
A scoring chance often starts before the ball reaches you. Creating separation, timing a run, and adjusting your body can make the next touch easier. Striker training brings these actions together with finishing and decision-making.
Our training addresses shots from different angles, one-on-one finishing, first touch, and movement off the ball. Work on attacking crosses and cutbacks, running behind defenders, and holding up possession with your back to goal.
Rather than repeating one identical shot, practise responding to different opportunities. Learn to recognize space, prepare early before receiving, and choose a finish that suits the situation. The focus is on becoming a more effective attacking player who can contribute through movement, control, and composure throughout the match, not only goals.
